As far as our local elections go, the deadline is this coming Sat. Sept. 11th. Tomorrow probably is the deadline to send your ballot in.
I have thought this decision over and feel it is in my daughters best interest if I do not run this time around. I need to be around my children % 150 for these next three years. I have gone back and forth on this for the past two months. I know many of you have talked to me about this and I do appreciate your "backing" of my position. I just cant give a %100 to being a Chapter President for the next three years. These past three years have been a good chapter in my life. I have stood for what I believe in, I have fought all my fights with honesty, I have met many good people around the state. If it wasn't for many folks down in Sac. and many of the Chapter Presidents, I don't think I could have made it without their help. Thank you guys and gals. And thank you to my peeps up here for all that you have done. There is no way I could have done this job without you. You all know who you are *grins*
During this time that we are going through, it does not mater if you have the "Chapter President" tittle under your belt. Anybody can fight the fight. Everybody is our union. Just remember that. Without no contract, and I.T. running out this month, things are just going down hill in our state. It is going to take years to get back what we had. But never give up that fight.
In closing, this is the latest I have on who is running for our local chapter. Remember, you can decide to put in a write in if you choose to do so. And there are several vacancies.

wow. that is all i can say. this isn't the news i wanted to hear as many of you are feeling the same i am sure. i just hope when these guys win this election by default that they change their attitudes and mind set and do the right thing.
OMG. NOT READY FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS. SO EVERYBODY ON THE BOARD IS NOT RUNNING. GREAT. SO IFF ALL THESE PEOPLE MENTIONED DON'T HAVE ANYBODY TO RUN AGAINST THEM, THEN DO THEY JUST WIN BY DEFAULT?

I hear that Stultz and Baumiller and Grandfield are also in the ballot. this is just great. the only returning board memebers are the ones that didn't do crap for any of us. i wil not vote for any of these because this new board is a fucking joke. i do not want don cathy in there again. that man did nothing for us even when we had a contract. he filed and fought our managment when we needed help. he didn't want a local accademy, no strike team, no yards shutting down so staff could go home from being held. he fought all this. how can you guys forget all this? he made matter worse for us. he fought with the warden and we were the ones that paid the price for it. I'm very upset that the current chapter is not fighting still. it's like they are just giving up. so here is how my write in ballot is going

I suggest everybody do the right thing and write in somebody if not these guys. we cannot allow don cathey and his groupies to take over and destroy us. the only reason why don wants to be president so he can golf at pebble beach with CCPOA. he does not care about us. he does not care about first watch. he never did. and he never will. you people better wake up.

9/23/10: Did you even finish the first grade? I would be ashamedto write that post!! There are multiple spelling errors, false statements, etc. If you are going to write names in on the ballot then maybe you should at least know how to spell the names correctly!!!! Also the people that are running for the board show up to work. Of the names listed on your write in Ballot, OLAH has been out on ESL for the last year, does not return calls or communicate with the membership. KVASNAK(at least i can spell the name) Whines and tells 1st watch staff when they get held staay for a litte while then go home sick, that is a nice example to set. VAN DEVENTER has not been to a board meeting since his so called appointment to the board. LOPEZ only shows up when it benefits her, and for the conventions. PERALTA just one of Lori's puppets several staff have taken issues to him (so called chief job steward) only to be told to handle them their selves. As far as the rest of the names listed like I said before maybe you should spell the names correctly.

FYI KRISTY IS ONE OF THE BEST BOARD MEMBERS WE HAVE. SHE KEEPS US INFORMED ON ALL THE BENEFITS AND DOES HER JOB WELL. I THINK SHE ATTENDS ABOUT HALF THE MEETINGS DUE TO HER WORKING 3RD WATCH. WHEN WE BRING UP SAFTEY ISSUES TO HER, SHE IS IMMEDIATELY ON THE PHONE WITH LORI (WHO DOES ANSWER) AND THE PROBLEM IS FIXED BY THE END OF THE HOURS. AS FOR KVASNIK, HE DOES A HELL OF A JOB ON FIRST WATCH. HE DOES MORE THEN WAYNE OR BOB PUT TOGETHER.
AFTER THE MONTHLY MEETING WE WOULD GO UP TO WAYNE AND BOB AND ASKED THEM WHAT TOOK PLACE, AND THEIR ANSWER WOULD BE NOTHING. BUT WHEN WE TALK TO OTHER BOARD MEMBERS WE WOULD GET ALL THE INFO. SO WHO IS THE LOPS ON THIS BOARD? I REST MY CASE.
AS FOR LORI BEING ON HER ESL, I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS CONTACTING HER. NOR HAVE I HEARD ANYBODY ELSE HAVING PROBLEMS CONTACTING HER. SO MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET YOUR FACTS TOGETHER BEFORE OPENING YOUR MOUTH.
AS FOR CHRIS, HE IS NEW, BUT HE IS WANTING TO LEARN AND BRINGS UP VALID ISSUES. JAY, SAME THING, HE WILL MAKE A GOOD PRESIDENT ONE DAY. ATLEAST THESE GUYS ARE TRYING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE INSTEAD OF SOME WHO WANT TO RUN THEIR MOUTHS ALL THE TIME AND ACT LIKE WOMAN ON THEIR PERIODS.

WHOMEVER PUT DOWN THEIR SUGGESTION ON THE BALLOT, I AM GOOD WITH THAT, SO UNLESS SOMEBODY HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT, GET IT OUT THERE SO WE CAN CHANGE THIS.
I have to agree we all need to get together as unity and decide who we want on our union. If everybody writes different names down, this does nothing and the ones on the ballat win. So if you are serious about this, we need to band together. I do not like the names on the ballot. I am disapointed that our current board is giving up? As for the two remaining wanting to come back. Why? I ask. They haven't been of any use to me.
